A woman was shot and critically wounded in the South Shore neighborhood Thursday afternoon. Around 4 p.m., the woman was shot at 6826 S. Cornell Ave., just south of Jackson Park. She was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

Chicago Police were called to 68th and Cornell Avenue in South Shore Neighborhood. Police said it appears Tatanisha Jackson, 43, got home and was approached by boy, 17, with a gun. Police allege the teen then shot Jackson in the head four times.
